Playground Partnership
Thank you for visiting our blog, we will update this blog regularly so keep an eye out for your child's work!We have been given a rare opportunity to show off our children’s work by way of a national competition. The prize is ₤10,000 to spend on playground equipment. Our children need to ‘own’ the entry; therefore we have planned two weeks of focused activities with this theme. This will give the children an opportunity to research, plan and evaluate what activities they would like to spend the money on to improve our playground. Some children have already decided a climbing frame would be great fun! And others would like a trampoline!
Please find time to look at our work and leave us your thoughts. If you and your family have some playground activities you would like to tell us about. then be sure to leave a comment!.scroll to the bottom of this page to read others comments.

The Competition
- We have been given a rare opportunity to show off our children’s work by way of a national competition. The prize is ₤10,000 to spend on playground equipment.
Our children need to ‘own’ the entry; therefore we have planned two weeks of focused activities with this theme. This will give the children an opportunity to research, plan and evaluate what activities they would like to spend the money on to improve our playground as this will be the theme for our entry.
Some children have already decided a climbing frame would be great fun! And others would like a trampoline!
Over the 2 weeks the children’s curriculum will focus on ‘the playground’
All our lessons will have this theme, some children will be
Measuring the playground
Drawing a playground plan
Singing playtime songs and poems
Creating a graph from a tally chart
Others will be researching by
Asking questions
Finding out
Working out costs
Using ICT
During this time children will record their work using photographs and video, at the end of the week this work will be collected together and sent off to the competition organizers.
During this time children will be writing and asking questions to find out what other year groups would like, this will also give them the opportunity to ask grown ups their opinions, what they think would be nice in the playground and what activities they enjoyed as children.
If you have an opportunity to support your child in this period please tell us about your ideas and experiences by leaving a comment.
